City Dungeon: Ch 29 No man's land

 The next morning we all gather around the open ground near our lodge. Even the lodge keeper and his family all were here to bid farewell to Darrak and his friends and family. Apart from the original 5, we have three ladies Laria, Briana and Yenifer. From the dwarfs we have Darrak, his engineer friend Eberk and his wife Amber, her sister Helja, and her husband Thorin. We are 13 of us here and on the other side we have warlock Jordan. 14 in total so far.

[Jordan, are you ready?]

[Yes, my lord, are you guys ready? I won't be able to hold the portal up for more than 5 minutes so you guys will have to rush in. Prepare the carriages to come towards you, the portal will open right where you stand.]

After getting in front of every body and lining them up to move straight forward.

[Ready when you are, Jordan]

A small portal appeared in front of me and I took a step back as it grew bigger and bigger.

Once it was big enough, we could see grassland and mountains on the other side. As I tried to step into the portal, Gnas and Viredeo steps in. 

"Boss lemme go check out the other side first." Gnas seemed protective.

They went ahead swords drawn and Garthos stepped in giving me wait signal. 

"What is this, we don't have time for this" I shouted and ask every body to hurry the carriages. There were 4 carriages to get to other side. 

 "Young Demon Lord Spike, Welcome to no man's land." Jordan greeted me as I stepped into the portal.

Gasping and gazing at the beautiful plain lands wide spread just beneath a beginning of not so big mountains,  the dwarfs were surprised to see a land so different from their mountain home.

 Pointing at the map while we all gathered around him, Jordan shared his knowledge about the land so far.

"Here are the two mazor civilizations Tranmire to west and Friscos to east, shown by the dark lines is their rough boundaries. There's Portland towards north but our concern is with these two for now. They are not in good terms and as you can seed the path, shown by dashed line, between them is also not so well built. We are here, right in between these two. Hopefully both of them will think us as the other nation's problem and let us be."
